Pupil Premium

Schools receive additional funding for every child that is eligible for free school meals. It is therefore extremely important that all pupils who are eligible are registered as such as this will trigger the payment of the additional funding to the school. Please remember that registering a child as being eligible for free school meals does not mean that the child is required to consume school meals. Parents may decide to send their child to school with a packed lunch on some, or all days of the week. More information and advice for parents who think that their child might be entitled to free school meals can be found here .

Tutoring Statement

There has been some recent controversy about the tuition funding given to schools. The government has suggested that it will ‘name and shame’ schools not taking part in the programme and not using catch up funding appropriately. We would like to reassure our parents that we use catch up funding as follows:

Our curriculum, learning and assessment leads are partially funded through the programme and have overall responsibility, alongside Heads of School, for the attainment of pupils in their school, year group and cohort.

Our support staff and teachers also undertake catch up, pre-teaching and intervention groups daily. Funding is focused on those who are most vulnerable or have additional needs or are struggling to meet the expectations of the curriculum.

All staff including Senior staff in the school and trust, have regular and recent training in the areas of support they are being asked to deliver.

Our catch-up premium information can be found here on this page (please read and consult the documentation below). The DFE guidance can be found here. We have chosen the school led options as other options do not allow schools to choose the staff that deliver programmes. If you have any questions please contact a member of the senior leadership team.
